With a distinguished aviation career that spans the realms of private jet sales, management, operations, charter and fractional jet ownership, Jason has cemented his reputation as a specialist in luxury transportation. Jason’s journey into aviation was propelled by a profound passion for flying that began at 12 years old when his father gave him his first flight lesson. This deep-rooted love for aviation is matched by Jason’s remarkable proficiency as a U.S. Coast Guard licensed yacht captain, a testament to his versatility and command over both air and sea.
In the maritime sector, Jason boasts over fourteen years of experience buying, selling, managing and operating luxury yachts, pioneering innovative yacht chartering services, and devising groundbreaking yacht membership programs that have redefined nautical leisure for an elite clientele. Mitxi Ortiz, VP of Sails
Mitxi (mitt-sea) is a dynamic yacht charter professional whose journey from Mexico City to Chicago embodies the pursuit of dreams and opportunities. Born in the vibrant Mexican capital, Mitxi's life took a pivotal turn when her family relocated to Chicago during her childhood. Their move was driven by her parents' aspiration to pursue the American dream, seeking better prospects and a brighter future. Growing up in the diverse tapestry of Chicago, Mitxi developed a deep appreciation for cultural fusion and global perspectives. Her experiences navigating between two worlds instilled in her a strong sense of adaptability, resilience, and a passion for connecting with people from all walks of life.
After completing her college education, Mitxi found her calling in the maritime industry, drawn to the allure of the open seas and the excitement of luxury yacht charters. She has been an integral part of the Coast Yachts team for eight years. With her innate knack for hospitality and her attention to detail, she quickly rose through the ranks, establishing herself as a trusted advisor and expert in the field. Mitxi's commitment to providing unparalleled service and unforgettable experiences has earned her a stellar reputation among clients and colleagues alike. Keith Carpenter, Director of Safety and Compliance
Captain Keith, originally from the Midwest, was captivated by the vastness of Lake Michigan as a child. He learned about water safety and boat operations from his outdoorsy mother. Fascinated by marine life, he studied Biology at WIU before delving into fisheries research in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. With titles like Biologist, Fishing Guide, Tour Operator, Naturalist, Boating Safety Instructor, and Captain he spent years exploring Alaska's waters. Now back in the Great Lakes, Keith, an experienced Captain, prioritizes boating safety for all guests and crews onboard.
As the Director of Safety and Compliance at Coast Yachts, Keith plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and security of our guests, crew, and vessels. He oversees all aspects of safety protocols, regulations, and compliance measures to maintain the highest standards of operational integrity. Keith leads our regular safety audits, inspections, and drills to identify and address potential hazards and risks. He provides training and guidance to our team and to our Boat Club Members on safety protocols, emergency response procedures, and risk mitigation strategies.
